About Us
The Tuscarawas Water and Sewer District was established as a regional water and sewer district pursuant to Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 6119 to provide essential services to the Village of Baltic. Due to the unique geographic distribution of facilities and customers across three counties—Holmes, Tuscarawas, and Coshocton—Tuscarawas County was unable to offer direct service. This led to the formation of our district to ensure reliable and efficient water and sewer services for the community.
Governance
Our district is governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees, consisting of three members:
- One appointee from the Village of Baltic
- Two appointees from Tuscarawas County
The Board of Trustees meets quarterly to discuss and make decisions on district operations, ensuring that we meet the needs of our customers and maintain high standards of service.
Operations and Services
We have a contract with Tuscarawas County to operate and maintain our facilities. The actual work is provided by the Tuscarawas County Metropolitan Sewer District (TCMSD), a department of the Commissioners headed by the Sanitary Engineer. TCMSD is responsible for providing billing and customer care services, ensuring that our customers receive prompt and professional support.
Mission
Our mission is to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient water and sewer services to the Village of Baltic and surrounding areas. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
